Anyone else stocking up the pantry, just in case the Corona virus...

Doubled up on buying some things on our shopping trip on Thurs. But we have a huge, well stocked pantry and the garage freezer is full. Made sure we have enough dog and cat food for a month or more. Nothing will go to waste.

If you can figure out what they use to make it thicken up, you can make your own hand sanitizer out of 70% isopropyl alcohol. Just be careful around flames while it is evaporating.

Yup. I have a couple of liters of 2-propanol that I use to disinfect large (15 liter) water bottles. But I have no way to gel it.
Can you just pour it into a spray bottle and use it in its liquid form? The cruise ship I was on last year was incredibly hygienic and attentive to cleanliness. There were staff members stationed at every entrance, exit, stairs and elevator bank to the cafeteria and restaurant level with spray bottles of some kind of alcohol based solution. Their one duty was to spray everyone's hands coming and going, with a huge smile and a hello. It was a clear liquid and evaporated quickly. Not a gel or foam.
