I truly wonder what our corporate office will send out as the policy.
I saw where Walmart had relaxed their attendance policy and granted extended sick leave if you need to quarantine
I wonder if other retailers will follow suit.

I work in a very similar environment. I’ve just been told that if you go out on quarantine, you must provide proof of a clean Covid-19 test before you can come back to work.
And, good luck getting that test. Sad

At least one of my credit card companies (Citibank COSTCO Visa) has announced they will work with those affected by this, presumably to extend lines of credit, hopefully avoid fees etc...

An email from Citibank wrote:
If you've been impacted by COVID-19 and need our support, we're here to help. We will have dedicated assistance available 24/7 - please contact us at the number on the back of your card to find out about "always on" assistance programs that may be available to you, such as credit line increases and collection forbearance.

If it’s out of pocket, do I really want to pay a hefty chunk to go back to work in an environment very likely to result in my getting sick again? Money aside, how many times do I want to roll the dice?

But hiding around the corner? It’s already tough enough looking for work if you’re older, I don’t like to think of the added burden if older workers become seen as bad risks because of greater susceptibility to the Corona virus.

Will we become the new leper’s?

(I’ll be able to get unemployment if I leave a job that poses a threat to my health, right? Why are you laughing?)

Have enough household items and groceries on hand so that you will be prepared to stay at home for a period of time.

So how long is a period of time?

Don't know if it holds true everywhere but in LA every single market chain is pushing home delivery and shop for you - of course you'd then have to delouse every item they deliver!

I don't know, I've used online shopping with me picking up the groceries for the past few months and love it! Not having to go into the store and be exposed to all those people seems like a plus in these trying times. Exposed to one person loading the groceries seems safer than interacting with dozens of people inside the store.

How long does the virus live on packaged items? :dunno:
