What about us with core 2 duo machines that won't be able to update to Lion?
I didn't realize core 2 duo machines won't be able to run Lion -- that's crazy!
Is just iDisk going away or all of MobileMe?

Core Duos won't run Lion.
Core 2 Duos will run Lion. People need to get their facts straight. Lion will be 32 bit and 64 bit, but will require the Core 2 Duos for the 32 bit.

I have an extra unused MobileMe. I wonder if Apple will be giving us any kind of credit for it?

Right now I'm wondering what I'm going to do about the three dozen web pages I host via MobileMe. I kind of saw this writing on the wall when iWeb didn't get an update with iLife '11, but held out hope that it was just due to an awaited maintenance thing with revisions to MobileMe. Hopefully Apple'll make that crystal clear soon; in the meantime, I'll have to start working on a contingency plan. I just (last month) finished my iWeb-site and have it hosted with MobileMe. Bugger. I have no iDevice, except a water damaged 1st Gen Touch and a couple of old iPods. I don't give a rats arse about Touches or Pads or iPissing Contests. |
