Anyone Understand What Is Going On With International Mail?

I have had a package en route from Japan via Japan/USPS mail for two months now. Having some issues understanding what my friend in Tokyo is trying to say as to why it is taking soooo long. He says US is not accepting air packages from Japan right now?

Any insight from either side?

Earlier in the pandemic my China packages were taking 2 months for delivery, with the tracking information becoming useless once the package hit the US. They would just show up in the mail one day.

I had a package from Europe recently that took 4 months! It was stuck in the USPS Processing Center in Chicago where it sat for so long that the USPS stopped recognizing the tracking number. And then it just showed up one day.

Got some oil pressure sensors that I didn't order this weekend from China in only a week or two. I'm guessing that's part of some fake review scam...

It's only been a couple of weeks, but my two Orico boxes have yet to appear on the 'scope, though I do have a tracking number.

It's probably a combination of COVID playing hob with international shipping and the USPS being fscked with on our side.

I think I'll order that plastic Orico box MNB just listed.
