Xfinity called - They Want Their Flex Back

Xfinity has a free device called Flex which is essentially just a Roku like box. I signed up for one a few months ago so I could qualify for free Peacock Premium. For ease of use I prefer my Roku and haven't used the Flex once I signed up for Peacock. It appears Xfinity has noticed and emailed me a request to return it since I wasn't using it. Doesn't say whether I can keep it if I start to fire it up from time to time.

Does anyone know if I'll get to keep Peacocking if I return the Flex device? I've enjoyed some things on Peacock but not enough to pay for the service regularly.

Basic Peacock is supposed to be free via their cable box (internet/apps area ?). When I tried it just now, the channel did not come up when I tried to stream it on my computer.

I think Peacock Premium has access to all their content. Basic doesn’t. Plus adds commercial free status.

I didn't have the Flex box but was able to create a Peacock account and log into it on a Roku for free. I can't recall the setup process but it somehow required logging into the xfinity account and maybe getting a code or something.

Sorry, your Xfinity service doesn't include Peacock Premium, but you still have a Free Peacock account.

i don’t have tv from xfinity at all. only internet. like GGD does so maybe i’ll still be fine once i turn the Flex device in.

Edit: just read the link GGD gave and it does say Flex customers or those with their rental modem. maybe it Flex about for a few days and see if that keeps them happy.

I have Peacock+ Premium for I think $5.95 a month; I get it free for being an Xfinity Internet subscriber and I opted for the commercial-free tier.

Keep the FLEX box, it gives you free Peacock Premium w/ your Xfinity internet service.
They're just sending those emails to nudge their customers to use the
service so they can keep selling commercials.

Used the Flex last night to Netflix. Had to reboot it to have it reconnect to my Xfinity account. First big draw back was being unable to use earplugs which is a feature on my Roku remote. My son goes to bed much earlier than me so I watch my hour or so of TV each night through buds. In exploring settings I did see an option on the Flex remote for bluetooth so I'll play around with that later today. Have a set of Wyze headphones I'll try to pair with it. other than the private listening function the flex is just another flavor of Roku or amazon stick.
