Aloha! NWS issues Urgent Blizzard Warning for the Big Island

Now this is really something you don't see everyday.

The warning is in place from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday local time.
A high-wind warning has also been put into effect.

Snow happens in the mountains pretty much regardless of latitude...:-)

I was on a temporary duty assignment to the island of Mallorca in the mid 80's. I was at the tropo site located on the mountain peak of Puig Major.

Overnight, just before Thanksgiving, something like 3-4 feet of snow got dumped there.

How about Mount Kilimanjaro? Big Grin
