"Chem-bio suits"
#1
The news broadcast made reference to that there is concern about Russia possibly using chemical or biological weapons because they are bringing "chem-bio suits" to Ukraine... not being sure what these are, it seems they're referring to regular hazmat/biohazard suits.

... just what we need; chemical or germ warfare on top of everything else going on right now.

Nope, the Russian equivalent of our MOPP suits. Mission Oriented Protective Posture No, I didn't need to look it up.

No idea how they compare to ours. Ours you can fight in, but they are uncomfortable. But you live.

They’ll create any false flag they can. Getting suits to protect themselves against bioweapons they bring in wouldn’t be unexpected.

What nation would be brazen enough to pretend there were bioweapons in a country to justify invading it? That's a rhetorical question, obviously.

Though in our defense, we at least established the lie BEFORE going in, not ad hoc after things went south on us.

Thanks for that correction, but you can understand why I was confused -- Googling for "chem-bio suits" doesn't pull up anything like what you described. And I noticed that the news this morning also referred to them as "hazmat suits", so there's obviously some confusion even in the media about what these things are.

The military ones are more robust for combat. Among other things, they have an inner layer of activated charcoal that will absorb and trap toxins, biologicals and radiological dust, keeping it away from the soldiers skin.

Yes, I saw that, along with a better respirator system. Again, it's interesting that the news got this so far off.

Reporters have become some of the laziest class of researchers there are today. Most can't even be bothered to spellcheck.

And many "reporters" have no formal training, just a laptop and an internet connection.

My shooting buddy had to wear them while taking down refineries in the Sandbox. It wasn't as bad operating on the boats doing the oil rigs, because at least there was air movement so it wasn't as stifling.
