DA drops gun enhancement against Alec Baldwin

IIRC, there are commercial dummy rounds sold that have a steel BB inside so you can check them by listening for the rattle.

Cheap-skates try and make their own by pulling the bullet, dumping the powder, removing the primer, then re-seating the bullet, so they end up practically indistinguishable from live rounds.

The latter were already on-set since some of the crew were using the prop guns for target practice.

I bet I can guess what this production did...

Actually, someone took a shell casing from a spent fake bullet - the company (Starline Brass) only makes fakes - and reloaded it as a live, real bullet. And somehow this got on the set - actually, eight of them did. Not sure why this isn’t more widely reported or known.

That’s gonna be tough to pin on Baldwin.

I should clarify - it took a number of people messing up for this to happen.

And it only took one doing their job to prevent this from happening.

I should clarify - 'doing their job' carries the implication 'doing it properly'.
