2014 Mac mini - TB2 Capabilities?
#1
Mac Mini (Late 2014) - Macmini7,1
3.0 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
RAM: 16 GB (1600 MHz DDR3) (soldered)
GPU: Intel Iris 1535 MB
Internal SSD-NVMe: 1 TB (Aura Pro X2)
macOS 12.6.3 (Monterey)
Internal SSD: 1 TB - Windows 10 Home (Boot Camp)

1080HD monitor connected via HDMI

(2) Hard Drive Docks daisy chained off one TB2 port

- I dont recall it being called a gemini when I got it.

Been debating adding a second 1080HD monitor (or maybe a 2560x1440) to the second TB2 port with display cable. Was wondering if this could begin to tax the 2014 Mac Mini performance? Not tried it yet, thought I would ask some of you that own the 2014 Mac mini first.

It's within the capabilities of that Mini. I can't imagine you'd notice any slow downs due to running dual displays.

I ran dual 1440p displays on a 2012 Mini (which is actually an unsupported configuration) via dual Thunderbolt docks off a single Thunderbolt 1 port and didn't notice any performance issues.

Gareth...

Thanks for the input on the configuration you had on your 2012 Mini. If I understand the configuration you described correctly, you had two docks daisy chained running off one TB1 port, with one 1440p connected to each?

I was also wondering if i could do that with my two OWC hard drive docks (mentioned above), except mine would be running on Thunderbolt 2. I'll have to play around with my configuration and see what works.
