Yes. I concur with your assessment. Too bad I lost HBO to the whimsy that is not having enough dough to pay the extra cost for HBO. Hey, that sort of rhymes. I'm Roadblock.

Well, isn't "Grey's Anatomy" a soap opera dressed up in doctor's scrubs?
Isn't the Super Bowl a soap opera dressed up in shoulder pads and helmets? Yeah, we all love our soap operas. But as for Rome: yes, we are still watching it. For a soap opera, it's incredibly well-done. I guess the only real drama is how the personal stories of the smaller characters play themselves out, as most people know what happened to the actual historic figures. I wonder how many liberties they're taking with the historical figures to heighten the soap operaness of the story, though: see Marcus Agrippa's obsession with Octavian's sister, Octavia.
