Taxcut Help !!?!?!
#1
Hi, I completed my last years tax (2005 return) with Taxcut on a Bootcamp PC setup on my iMac. Now I need a copy of last years return. Sometime ago I managed to delete my Bootcamp setup when I created a Parallels "PC". All I have from last year is the taxcut ".T05" file with all my data inside !!

Does anyone know where I can get a program to open and print this data in a regular Federal and State return format. Obviously I can get Taxcut 2005 but I really don't want to have to buy the program again just to printout my old data (I'll do that if I have to). I still have my disk from last year but it is one of those "free" disks you get in the mail and you have to pay online before it installs !

Help ! This is a pain in the butt.

check dealmac.com

EDIT: the 2006 basic version is free, no CC needed, I just downloaded to try it and compare with taxact.com where I did my taxes for the past 2 years. I hope that 2006 version can open 2005 files, but I do not know for sure.

"H&R Block's TaxCut Basic 2006 for free
H&R Block's TaxCut Basic 2006 for Mac or PC is still a free download via this link. That's $10 less than hrblock.com's price, although that price includes e-filing. (This free version charges $15.95 for e-filing.) Upgrades are available. Of note, H&R Block's shopping cart may not be compatible with all web browsers."

Tried that but the 2006 version will only import 2005 data, it will not allow a printout of the original returns !!

Thanks tho !

Sorry then. I do my taxes online, but then I download and PRINT a copy. And of course I also keep the original PDF around (of course, encrypted and in several locations).

see if you can get a copy form IRS, I remember there is an option to order one, although I think it is not free...
