Donald's pick for DEA head drops out
#1
Edit: could we possibly get a quota on Florida people in the cabinet? I think there are plenty already.

It never ends with these people.

Trump’s pick to head the Drug Enforcement Administration just withdrew from consideration.

Florida Sheriff Chad Chronister says after “the gravity of this very important responsibility set in, I’ve concluded that I must respectfully withdraw.”

"Chronister’s wife, Nicole DeBartolo, is the daughter of former San Francisco 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. During his first term, Trump granted Chronister’s father-in-law a presidential pardon after he pleaded guilty in 1998 to failing to report a felony in a bribery case, which led to former Louisiana Gov. Edwin W. Edwards’ federal prison sentence. While he didn’t serve jail time, Edward DeBartolo Jr. agreed to pay up to $1 million in fines and relinquished ownership of the NFL team to his sister."

The connection to Jr doesn't seem that bad.

I wonder what the real skeletons in his closet are that lead to him dropping out before most people even knew he was a nominee?

Eh there's the slim possibility that he's an actual human being who for whatever irrational reasons supported this pab but doesn't want to be associated with the incoming administration... he decided he had already jumped high enough. It's even possible he just wanted to spend more time with his family...

Reading those words back now, it does seem unlikely either of those is the case.

Yeah, I’m sure some shoe was about to drop on this guy.

Half of Don’s picks have skeletons hanging out of their closets. (The other half have managed to keep them concealed, I guess.)

Only the best people, Don said.

I think his biggest problem is being a scumbag.

That is a feature for Trump, not a bug.

He enforced masking laws and the ban on large group gatherings during Covid45 so he never had a chance at confirmation.

He not only enforced the ban on group gatherings during Covid, he arrested a church minister for holding services during them. Nevermind that it was the law, put in place by Desantis, at the time.

There's also the possibility that he realized what would become the enormity of holding the position, and felt he wasn't cut out for it, even under good circumstances, let alone what boot is sure to drop, one day, from CFDT's bone spurred foot.
