You can also get it for that price direct from Novo if you have a prescription from your health care provider. Novo Care Pharmacy. Still 60%-70% higher than compounded versions were.

The studies I’ve seen, which I can’t find right now, suggested that side effects were significantly higher for the compounded drugs.

Well, that may have to do with people's inability to calculate dose or follow instructions (which weren't great - they give you syringes marked in insulin units and tell you to use XX units, which has nothing to do with the actual dosing recommendations). Also some (not many) counterfeits. And of course a lot of FUD from brand manufacturers.

Maybe. But I’ve seen pretty horrendous stuff from some compounding pharmacies-like a pet dog in a/upposedly sterile room.
