Dumbass me broke my 1st gen 11" iPad Pro
#1
...on vacation in Costa Rica. I decided to try it without its trusty case, and all it took was one fall off the hotel bed.

This one is 256GB WiFi + Cellular.

I'll have to decide what to do when I get back to the states. The "iShop" here says a screen protector won't stick because of all of the cracks. I'm not completely sure I agree with that? But I can live without it for a week.

I don't really use the pencil and I mostly browse and watch content. Might look for a bargain 11 inch.

damn.

you could always downgrade to save $$... how much of that 256 was full? maybe 128 is enough? or the cellular... how often? maybe use your phone as a hotspot when you need a cell connection...

got the wife a 11" M1 128 refurb from apple for $629 last xmas, I was OK with that.

Screen protectors don't really have super strong adhesive since they need to be removed cleanly, and you'll likely end up with a bunch of air bubbles which will also lower the adhesion. Clear packing tape might work though, I think I've used that in a pinch before.

Upgrading to the current iPad is major $$$ but I have to say it’s a huge upgrade. Battery life and screen brightness is amazing. Sometimes I use my old and new side by side and it’s quite a contrast.

Swappa, as other thread readers know, is my go to place to buy Apple tech. And my last iPad, a 3rd generation 12.9 iPad Pro, was a very lucky find off of Craigslist for $300. It was a 256gb with a pencil but a cracked screen that worked fine.

If all you do is browse the web and watch content, you really don’t need the extra expense of the iPad Pro.
Get a refurbished iPad Air instead.
