Camino Slowdown and Solution

My Camino had been grinding to a halt lately - whenever I downloaded a file. The beachball would spin as the file downloaded and as it decompressed or mounted.

I finally figured out the problem. I had never emptied out my download history - there were over a 1000 entries (the downloads.plist was 700KB).

I backed up the download.plist file (~/Library/Application Support/Camino/downloads.plist), removed it and now everything is back to normal.
