probably a very ignorant question. What would it take for an Intelimac to run one of these? Not a chance in hell, right?

About 80% of the problems would be solved with an AMD motherboard with EFI instead of BIOS.

Someone to convince Jobs that it might be a good idea not to keep all of his processor eggs in one basket again?...

I am really rooting for somebody at AMD to get under Steve's skin and get him to open up things for the AMD processors, which look to me like they have a lot more promise than the current road map from Intel is promising.

I don't know what AMD's road map looks like these days, but I do know that AMD had their ass handed to them by Intel on the current chips.

I was always an AMD fan and there were times when their offerings were much better than Intel but they can't touch Intel currently. And they're hemorrhaging money so badly trying to keep up right now that they might not make it.

Yes I do have a question, why you talking about Windows stuff on a Mac Forum!
You are talking MS Problems, NOT Mac problems.
Since this is a Mac Forum, I assumed you were talking about Macs.

Open up and say ahh, here comes the airplane of knowledge. Not hungry? My mistake. I thought you might be interesting in learning something. I provided the link to Microsoft's page on EFI so you could read about how they are not fully supporting it yet as background on why there are pretty much no other motherboards that use EFI.

Gateway supposedly shipped the first X86 computer with an EFI based motherboard in 2003. I wonder if Intel version of OS X would install on it. The specs sound similar to the early Intel development models Apple had.
