It installs...works. Original, 1st gen 17"

As in the past, the installation (or components of) wouldn't even take place if the machine did not meet the requirements. The installation does prompt that is recommended to be installed on a 1.25Ghz+ (along with video card specification)...but afterwards, does allow the full install - including Motion - surprisingly.

Just wanted to pass it along.

This will be going on more robust workstations...but pulled out an old laptop for grins.

...after some quick testing...FCP is not stable and typically just quits after startup. Motion does the same; however, all of the other component apps work fine (DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack, etc.)

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I have FCS 1.0 and Motion will run in a slightly handicapped way on an origianl 17" PowerBook. I can't believe you just called my PowerBook old..... time flies in tech land.
