Interesting, no one was lambasting the analysts when they were predicting sky-high numbers for AAPL just weeks ago yet now?

Enjoying a nice big steaming bowl of udon, I presume.

Sam posts articles that are generally critical of Apple without offering up any commentary of her own, either for or against the article. She's free to do that, but I can see how some might not like the practice. I think it's good form to post an opinion or critique of a linked article, you know, to get the conversation started, but I can't say whether that approach is empirically better or worse.

And IIRC, there was a lot of discussion here as to whether it was really possible for Apple to hit these 400-750K weekend sales numbers that were being bandied about by the analysts. Posters were coming up with ballpark estimates of stock levels x number of Apple / ATT stores to see if it was even possible to hit those numbers.

samintx is generally clueless, and her posts reflect that.
doesn't mean I like her any less, she just is. ;-)

and I rag on most anal-ysts, no matter what.
they usually pull "facts" outta their arses, hence the hyphenation of their title.
the only on that seems worth a damn is gene munster (eddie's brother).

If ATT activated 146,000 units, actual sales were likely in the 300-400k range.

The activation count would not reflect gifts, ATT fsck-ups, Saturday evening purchases, speculative purchases, and Apple store online purchases among others.

There is a considerable difference between taking the satirical piss out of the inevitable bad press Apple will get for not meeting imaginary numbers, and samintx's bent of ONLY posting when SLANTED negative articles appear.

Silencio is making fun of the soon-to-appear negative articles that samintx will (watch, you'll see) faithfully post with only the fact that she posted it as commentary.

IOW, Silencio is cool and samintx is a tool.

I am not going to waste my time combing the forum for proof, but this is simply not true. Evidently you have a very selective memory. Also, I fail to understand the need to hijack this thread into an insult fest. Grow up.
