It's a clever marketing gimmick to sell overpriced cards to uninformed consumers who think that because it says "gaming," or "for Wii," or, "for PSP," any other card either won't work or will damage their machine.

In reality and SD card will work in a Wii and any Memory Stick Duo will work in a PSP.

i tossed in a 1gb from newegg into mine for 1/2 or 1/3 the price when i got my wii at first. With photos on it even.
