InDesign CS 3 to InDesign CS 1, Interchange format not working
#1
First of all, it drives me freaking nuts that InDesign CS 1 is named "InDesign CS 3.0.1" on the title bar in Windows when it's open.

Anyway, I'm trying to send a client an InDesign file which was created in CS2, but edited later in CS3. So export out of CS3 as an inx file, I sent my client the file and she receive the following error when opening it: "This is not a valid InDesign Interchange document."

So how do I get an INDD file to her to open?

Thanks.

1. Your CS1 will need to have the .04 update or later to open the interchange file. Make sure they are up to date. (download .04 update from Adobe)

2. Strait from Adobe: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewCont...d=kb401354&sliceId=1

3. If you don't have CS2 (which is more reliable for interchange back to CS1) you can have your client download the CS3 30 day trail in a pinch....or buy them CS3

Adobe punishes InDesign users who jump versions.

Thanks papercup.

Unfortunately, by the time I returned the client had purchased CS3.
