Is this possible with a mini and SATA drive?

If I took a sata drive out of my G5 running 10.4, could i put it in something like this http://www.cooldrives.com/3alox911fi40.html and boot a g4 mini using it?

That enclosure that you linked appears to just support PATA drives, not SATA like the G5 has internally.

Just booted a full size G4 off a Mini SATA hard drive via an Oxford 924 Firewire bridge board. So, that case you linked should work fine.

Yeah, SATA FireWire cases are expensive. That one has FW800, so it is even more. You can get a no-name 500 GB FW400 external drive for $120 on sale.
