Can anyone recommend a cheap cell phone that works on ATT?
#1
My lady friend has destroyed her Nokia 6120 or whatever their basic flip camera phone was called a year ago. She apparently dropped it so many times that the clamshell halves kind of separated. Contract expires in April, she may be switching carriers so she just wants a basic phone 'til then...wants to keep her number so pay-as-you-go is probably out, plus she'd have to pay to break her contract. (Assuming pay-as-you-go phones don't work if you have a regular ATT contract and try to slip your sim card in.)

So she just needs another flip phone (doesn't like candy bars) on the cheap. I'm sure eBay has a bunch, I just need a recommendation from you, my favorite cyber neighbors. She wants:

Voice dialing
BT (not mandatory but would be nice)
Still camera function
ATT compatibility

Muchas thankas.

You can buy a cheap AT&T pay as you go phone and just put her SIM in it. You can throw out whatever SIM/phone number they send you.

Just got the tiny refurbed Pancera flip for $30 shipped for my boss and did the SIM swap.

You can usually find the cheap AT&T Go Phone at places like Wal-Mart for about $20, just put the old SIM into the new phone and it will work instantly.

I just bought a Moto F3 on ebay for $31, nice little phone.
Basic as can be, no camera, no mp3 player, but tough, and killer battery life.

I second the Gophone suggestion, get the cheap phone and switch sim cards.

My 6030 has been a major trooper:

If she decides to momentarily overcome her dislike of candy bars.

Nokia W735 is a basic as it comes. It has camera and Cingular/ATT compatible. No BT nor voice dialing. I have dropped it four times spilling all its guts. Still it works.

Thanks very much, one and all. Think I'll keep it simple and cheap and pick up the $20 Wally World ATT gophone. That way she can destroy it 2 or 3 times and it's still almost as cheap as anything else.
