Mail app weirdness
#1
I have a neighbor that emails me occasionally, and whenever I reply to her messages, her email address appears in triplicate in the "to" field. I've checked the name in my address book, and it only appears once, so why is this happening? Any help is appreciated.

Just a guess... Maybe she's cc-ing herself on the messages and you're actually using "reply-all" instead of "reply" ...?

Are you the only recipient listed?

Do you know how to look at the mail-headers?

The Address Book should have nothing to do with it.

I expanded the header detail to look at it after you brought it up, but I see nothing that would indicate the source of the problem. I'm only hitting "reply", but "reply all" gets the identical result. If I compose a new message to this person, her address is autofilled with just the one name - it only happens with replies. I guess I can live with it if I can't find a reason - it's just a little odd. I thought the address book and previous recipients was responsible for how the address shows up in Mail?

Sounds like a corrupt address book file.

Try deleting her entry, such that it was mail from an entirely new person, and see if it happens again

Replies should use the mail-headers to compose the new message. NOT the Address Book.
