I found one on the local CL, the seller claims it's in mint condition.
Does anyone know if this is the LED model, and what the (baseline) specs might be? I want to make a little research before I get a reply from the seller, the post did not include any specs.
Is it worth 1000 bucks?

I think the LED corresponded to the Santa Rosa Chip-2.2 and 2.4 GHz
Introduced June 5, 2007

If not a scam--very good deal.

LED MBPs came out June 5, so maybe, maybe not. The processor speed will tell you which model it is. The LEDs are 2.2, 2.4, and 2.6, but the 2.6 didn't arrive until Nov. Previous mode (non-LED) was 2.16 and 2.33.

$1,000 is an absolute steal....IF it is not a scam. With that price, there is "scam" written all over it. Make sure that you get a copy of the original receipt with it (i.e. to ensure you are not fencing stolen property) and don't agree to make the transaction in any dark alleys. Another thing, this is such a good deal that if not a scam you can pretty much guarantee that it will be sold within a couple of hours of posting.

Yeah, seems like a good price. I asked the seller for more info but so far no reply yet. The post is dated 2:10 PM EST, and of course, only cash and carry, no shipping or dark alley.

It might get snapped up quickly but its not necessarily an amazing deal.
It could be a first gen MBP which was bought as a refurb for $1300. You're paying $1000 for a model that is about 3 years old.

I did some searches for that email address and there is another recent post where he wants to trade it for a motorcycle. He says he paid 1800 when he bought it NEW about 7 month ago. It seems at that time a new MBP was 1999, so I think it was the previous model (not LED). Well, still seems like a good deal, I might consider it if I get a reply (so far no answer)

Reread the post. It's a 7 month old current (LED) version.
