Whew, okay good. Then you get how the system works. You work. You earn money. Then you pay taxes. With your money. In exchange for things like roads, fire departments, police, schools, libraries, etc. the things that make living here a good deal. At first it seemed like you weren't clear on who paid who. Right on!

I also know who is paying for this "rebate". And it isn't you and it isn't me.

And that

Bush already proved that these tax cuts don't do crap except make people think the government is helping them.

It is poor economics, a poor solution for struggling families, and sad overall. It is similar to the "tax holiday" McCain and Clinton propose. It makes people who do not do research about the issue feel good. Sad.

I've paid more in taxes this year than four times my aggregate salary ten years ago and I get.... $0.

Nevertheless, I think it great folly. Just my opinion. I want a Robin weed trimmer too!

I have a weed trimmer.

Mine is going to pay off a portion of one of my credit cards, which I use to pay my heating bill (which has increased by 85% since 2006) and my food bill (which is probably up by 35% over the past two years).

I just cancelled two planned long weekend trips due to lack of funds, so I guess I am not doing my part as a patriotic, spending 'Merkan.
