[quote blusubaru]Arg... BMV and local badges are telling me that it needs to be painted something other than yellow or white to drive it. What the!?!?
Ok, yellow looks too much like a school bus, but the bus companies here also charter them, so they have a charter sign for the front (where yours has white patch).
They also have to put some sign in the back window which states there are no kids on the bus.

I don't see color discrimination to drive it, maybe get around some kind of registration shortcoming. (seatbelts ?)
Looks like it has wheel chair access, too.

What's up with white ? Regional Transit ?

White is church bus color. Maaco wants $1200. I've thought about water-based, but it's raining here the next couple of days (kind of defeats that!). There's no way this thing will fit in our garage. It might if I deflate the tires.

OK, get a hacksaw and turn it in a convertible bus! Sweet.

Perhaps that to keep someone from driving around to school bus stops and picking up young children.

It's a Bluebird bus, on a Chevy chassis.

Is it a V8? If so then it is a 6.2l GM diesel. They are known for decent mileage, not power. Pretty reliable if not pushed too hard. Original power plant for the HMMWV.

I don't know what other, if any, engine options Chevy offered on that size chassis, possibly a 5.9l Cummins if it is a I6.

It's not a Bluebird, it's a Thomas Built, but yes, a Chevy P-30 chassis (same as UPS trucks I believe)

My bad, I saw a picture that showed that body style as a Bluebird and stopped. Now that I know the correct info.............
