Samsung Spinpoint warranty
#1
There was a deal this morning, a Samsung Spinpoint 750 GB, 7200, 32 MB for around $100 + shipping, and I almost pulled the trigger but did not. Later in the day I read a few comments that this drive comes with a 1 year warranty, not 5 like Seagates. I know that once the drive is toast warranty is the least you should worry about (it's all about the data, right?), but still, if the drive was that reliable, why not offer a 5 year warranty. Then I wanted to find out what the warranty was, and it turns out neither Fry, nor Newegg list warranty on their site, and even worse, I went to Samsung's web site and I did not see any warranty listed.

What's up? you would think warranty is one of the basic things that should be listed in a spec sheet, wouldn't you?

I googled it...3 year limited warranty was what I found.

Unless it's from someone selling OEM non-Factory Warranted units - or possibly refurbs (which I'd be surprised if even out there yet as new as the F1 is) - the standard warranty on new units from authorized resellers is 3yrs Factory on the Samsung Spinpoint.

We get pretty well taken care of by Samsung... and I'll telll ya, $100 is under our current cost - if it's legit with full Samsung warranty, that's a heck of a deal. Where is that deal?

We list 3yr Warranty in our Samsung listings:
