Palm Treo 700p-opinions?

Used on CL for $120. Has AC and car charger, holster, seems in good shape.

I had one before my iPhone. Absolutely loved it (but I love my iPhone more). If you sync w/ a Mac consider getting Mark/Space's Missing Sync.

I've had a 650 and now a 755p. Depends what you want to do with it. Internet works, but has been only marginally useful in my experience (based on screen size and some page rendering issues). Email works just fine, and contacts/calendars work well too.

All in all, it's a solid performer, and probably a decent deal at $120. I probably wouldn't spend much more than that, but I'm sure it'll do well for you. The iphone is obviously a better device, but the Palm will also get the job done.

Thanx for the advice. I will use it just as a replacement for my Palm IIIe that died and since I'll have it with me the phone will be convenient. I will probably email too.

Very poor reception! With verizon I know it has a poor signal.

Suitable only for Windows machines. The Mac software was written in 1948.

The 700P I had from Sprint was a terrible product. I kept having tons of inexplicable resets which were driving me crazy.

It was so bad that when the new Treo 755P came out I was able to get a sympathetic Sprint Customer Service rep to upgrade me.

The 755P has been a pleasure by comparison.

Based on my personal experience, I'd recommend staying away from the 700P.

BTW, I've never had a problem syncing either the 700P or the 755P with my Macs using the Missing Sync, which is a must have app. http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php
