How is this 20 inch monitor worth $1,800?

Is this someone trying to pump up their ratings or something? I don't see anything too unique about this monitor. Someone clue me in...

This monitor, from what I can find, is used for the medical industry.
It can do 2048 x 1536 resolution, and for a 20" monitor, that is VERY high resolution. More here: http://catalog.ebay.com/Planar-Dome-C3i-...67QQ_tabZ1

Very high resolution for a 20" display, 2048 x 1536. Also rated for medical imaging, a somewhat more limited and specialized area of display marketing than your usual computer monitor.
Edit: Darn, beat to it. If I did not have to go back and correct that typo...

you need incridible detail to view medical images. Notice that it is displaying an X-ray. We have one at work for N-ray images.

Probably has a requirement for medical use to not have any bad or stuck pixels as well.
