I have a Panasonic DVR with 100 GB hard drive. It seems to be a standard 3.5" hard drive, a Maxtor. I read some people had trouble upgrading the HD, it was not recognized, etc. I think I am going to try it anyway. I am not sure how the HD is formatted, FAT, FAt32, other format... but I'd like to clone it. What's my best option??? CCC, or perhaps I should look for a Windows app? if so, which one do you recommend?
Thanks

If you can get it to show in Disk Utility, you can see the format info at the bottom of the DU window.
CCC or Super Duper are both very good Mac apps for cloning. Disk Utility's Restore function also works reasonably well. I don't have experience using any of these when the source is other than HFS+.

I'm pretty sure the Panasonic uses a flavor of Linux. None of the Mac or Windows disk cloners will do you any good. Visit AVS forums. They can probably lead you to the program you'll need to clone the drive or how to install the OS needed to get a bigger drive working.
