Fridays are good! (this post won't be of interest to you unless you like my snakes)

And today seems to be a really good Friday!

It was feeding day for half the snakes (20) & I finished them in record time. It took just under 2 hrs to feed them, clean their enclosures and water dishes. Woohoo!

I had this week off from work & now I get to celebrate a long weekend out of town. Also, I may be adopting a bullsnake tonight on behalf of my mother. I'm definitely adopting 2 little fire bellied toads for her. And, there's a slight chance I may be adopting another corn snake. Craigslist and freecycle seem to be a mecca for "disposable" pets. Sad

I spoke too soon. One of my kenyan sand boas bit me while I was putting her back into her enclosure. They seem to have really long teeth - blood everywhere! And, the kenyan sand boas weren't hungry today.

Those fire-bellieds are very cute... and lots of personality, too...

They sure are adorable, Peter! My mom's become quite attached to hers. With these 2, she'll have 6. I get to keep them til Wednesday. There's a mealworm shortage & the only thing I could find for them were waxworms. They'll have to make due til Wednesday. One is a dark, dark, dark green and the other looks like the bottom pic you posted.

I also have the new bullsnake with me! What a beauty. I'll try to take pics this weekend.

They'll definitely eat crix -- or pretty much anything that crawls around and triggers their primitive reptilian/amphibian brain that it's tasty munching. Big Grin

My mom's been feeding hers earthworms (from her pesticide free back yard), mealworms (except now since there's a shortage), & waxworms as a treat. I read on an online caresheet that they'll even eat pinkies!!! My mom says she won't do that because then she'd have to chop them up into tiny pieces and she doesn't have time to do that.

If I had more time to devote, I'd be tempted to keep the little toads myself. I've been calling them "toadlets." They are so cute.
