Is there any silver lining among these dark clouds?

Maybe a sure-nuff electrical car?
Maybe regulations that will prevent an even worse collapse in the future?
A hastening of better health care availability?
Repairing the Constitution ?

Keep dreaming. If it's one thing politicians specialize in, it's thinking only until the next election cycle. One hopes that will change.

None of the above.

It's all "which came first, the chicken or the egg?"

For electric cars you need more power, but that's not on the horizon (nuclear, clean coal, natural gas power plants)

How do you regulate away greed? If shareholders/boards of directors are happy voting their CEO's huge pay and bonus packages, what's to regulate short of setting caps on any legal remuneration.

We have the best health care in the world, but it is so full of corruption and paperwork. You want the government to run it and just make all that worse? Who's idea was HIPPA (sp?) anyway? What a stupid piece of legislation. My S/O can't even get a report on his mother in a nursing home without her permission (or his sister's).

Repairing the Constitution? What about the actual Constitution needs repair? I think the document is fundamentally sound. It's all the recent "from the bench social justice" interpretations that need to go.

JMHO.

Plenty of power to recharge your electric car at night.

You just can't afford the battery pack @$1000/kWh.
