I might be able to pick up a LaCie Mini Hub, USB & Firewire 500GB external hard drive with extra power supply and cables for $80. It is still under warranty, but I don't know for how long.

Not such a great price. I looked into that a while back for a cousin of mine and I was deterred by the less than stellar user reviews posted at Amazon:
