The first thing discussed is the use of Styles. I think this is wonderful, as Styles are among the most overlooked and under-appreciated word processing features.

I think this is wonderful, as Styles are among the most overlooked and under-appreciated word processing features.

Very true: however, most people would rather just tab 5 times rather than give any thought to where a tab should be plsaced and then set that tab; or add multiple returns instead of thinking about paragraph spacing. Bad word processing habits won't change for the majority of users.

MS Word's implementation of styles is so awful that Word users have very little incentive to implement styles; Pages will have to handle styles significantly better to make people want to use them. And that's assuming they know enough to use them.
