I just installed Volume Logic 1.3.2 onto my MacBook. It loads, and its window shows up. But it's not on, and the meters show no action.
Anyone else getting VL to work?

Any Volume Logic users out there? Can't get it to work with 10.5.6

Sorry. Time to get rid of it.
It worked great for like a week before an iTunes update killed it. Updates were iffy. It was never was supported all that well. It's not being supported or updated at all now. It's not compatible with iTunes 7.5 or later and it's known to cause iTunes and other apps to crash.

Well, damn. What a brilliant piece of software back in the day. Tripled the quality of sound.
Are there any replacements?

Yea, Plantronics EOL'd Volume Logic with the release of Leopard. There were some Unix hacks which resurrected it for awhile but subsequent iTunes releases have pretty much done it in. I've been using iWOW for awhile now and it has worked well for me. Got it cheap through a MacUpdate special.

I used iWow until it caused havoc with iTunes under Leopard and I removed it.
I don't trust it now, but it might be worth a try.

There is a hack that consists of removing components from iWow to force VolumeLogic to work with later versions of iTunes and Mac OS. It's working fine for me with iTunes 8.1 under 10.5.6.
