my credit union has a coin counting machine that is free. Gives you a little slip of paper and they give you paper $ or a deposit to your account at the teller window.

they charge (8.9%?) if you get a cash voucher that you can us ein the grocery store, but 0% if you get an amazon.com vourcher (and not only amazon)
Commerce/TD Bank around here (NYC) does not charge you. I think it's the only free service in the city as far as I know.

Our bank does free coin counting - and willingly. They counted $165 in change in under two minutes.

Our (now ex) credit union just added an 8% fee for counting change last year.
