Great h'! Glad you got the drain done. I wouldn't get the cutoff valves too close to the wall, an inch or more should be okay.
I also used the pine bead board on part of the wall on the new bath I just did in my house. I like it. Also used epoxy grout on the tile around the bathtub, and it is great. Might send some photos...
