Even those Ikea ribs look good, although French fries with them is a travesty. The good rib joints around here have closed, or at least the ones a single woman dares patronize. The nagging hunger for decent ribs may be what drives me to head to the south. Do you think I could get in and out without the in laws finding out I was in their quarter of the country?

You could stop just north of the border here in GA. We have lots of rib places. My husband and my best friend's husband like to frequent "Bad Bob's" near us, but there are a gazillion other places, too.

I know you guys have lots of rib places! That's got to be, from my point of view, one of the few redeeming features about a part of the country that's so hot and humid and has so many bugs and creepy critters. Oh, and fire ants. Smile

When I was in grad school in Tallahassee, several of us would go to Sonny's on Sundays for their all-you-can-eat chicken and ribs. I know there are other places to get BBQ that are better, but that one fed us really good for not much money. We also made an art form out of ordering a baked potato from Wendy's and creating a full meal by "topping" it from the salad bar. I don't think they let you do that any more, and my friends and I were probably part of the reason. Sorry world!

Sonny's is not real barbeque, as far as I'm concerned. If you are in Atlanta, it's worth a trip to Fat Matt's Rib Shack.

I haven't been to Big Bob's, though.

I agree with you, but when you're a starving grad student... Furthermore, even Sonny's is more "real barbeque" than what you get where I live. Sad

Conshy... but then again, i'm spoiled by Grumpy's BBQ here in the L.V.

down on the main line, i'd say Famous Dave's.
