What would be the purchase date corresponding to this AppleCare expiration date?

If an iMac's AppleCare expiration date ends Jan. 25, 2012, what would have been the actual purchase/initial registration date?

Thanks.

Jan 25, 2009.
Since it is already purchased, the date was validaded by Apple already.

Applecare adds two years to the one year on a new Mac. Assuming it is a new iMac, my guess is Jan 25, 2009.

Okay, thanks. That's what I needed to know. My mind can't work backwards like that anymore!

It's weird b/c the seller says it was purchased Jan. 08, but the AppleCare doesn't expire until Jan. 2012.

Any way to make sense of that?

By the way, I verified with the serial number that AppleCare covers the iMac until Jan. 2012.

Are you sure that it's a 2007 model, sounds more like the just discontinued 2008 model, although the 2008 24" 2.8 GHz came with a 320GB hard drive standard.

What ever happened with that "hot" deal on the MacBookPro that you were going to get from Craigslist?

Yeah, I punched in the serial number myself and it shows up as the 2007 model.

That MBP was more out of curiosity. I never intended to try and buy it, but I wanted to try and find out how the seller could be selling it for so cheap and I enlisted the forum's help to try and figure it out.
