Personally, I'm starting to get really annoyed with tooltip-type mouse-over popups that are finding their way onto so many web sites. So I'd rather they not be added here.

What? You don't like it when a brazillion balloons pop up when you just want to move your mouse a few inches to click on something?

And then you can't see what you wanted to click on because it's covered by some pop up that refuses to go away?

Are you talking about those double- or dotted-underline things that pop up Intellitxt, VibrantMedia, Kontera and similar ads? If so, let me know, and I can show you how to easily edit your /etc/hosts file to prevent them.

There is already a "tool tip" on this forum. In stead of conveying a generic "New Message" (which is already in red) I would rather have a preview of said post.

Just my 2c worth.

Exactly what Lux is describing. And I'm not talking about Vibrant type ads although those are super annoying too.

If you use Camino or Firefox you can disable toolbar tips if they bug you.

In your location bar enter about:config

In the Filter field enter toolbar

In the Browser.chrome.toolbar_tips column double click on true. That will change it to false.

No more tips.
