Yeah, interesting about the balloon-- from next week's, it looks like they do actually find it... and yet the guy is maybe still an "Other" ?

Henry Gale ("Balloon guy") is played by Michael Emerson, who I think is just great in most everything he does: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0256237/ ... and yes, he has a penchant for playing creepy characters... I really liked his stint in "The Practice".

iaJim, about the truth being a hard bird to catch ... do you mean that Jin wouldn't have been able to handle it? Or that Sun was afraid to tell him? Or that she herself wasn't sure who the father was?

Now that I think about it... they've been on the island at least 40 days, probably more like 50-55 by this point. That would mean that, had she conceived before the crash, she'd have already likely been aware of being pregnant, right? So this is almost certainly Jin's...

I think the balloon guy / prisoner is definetly an 'other' but since there really is a balloon in the trees that part of his story hold up. I think that he and the others either captured the real people from the balloon, or they died, (maybe the bodies they found by the freshwater stream inland?), but either way, the others stole their story for the purpose of infiltration.

The prisoners story about how he would send them off to a trap and use them for collateral to trade for him back sounds too evil to be false. I don't think they would be willing to trade all three of them (Syaid, charlie and anna) for just one prisoner, so the others might ask for more in return, maybe the baby??

The baby could be jin's...assuming they had sex on the island, perhaps Jin's non swimmies were healed just as Lock is able to walk. The island has wierd juju I tells ya.
