Panic Transmit & Netgear Router

Ever since I installed and configured my Netgear "N" router ... even though it's a wired connection from my Mac with transmit ... my connection to my server with Transmit stalls after a while. I plug my computer directly into the wall--no router--and there are no problems. The connection stays live for hours and hours, I can change folders and directories at will.


Is there something I missed in the Netgear set up?

Is that a cable modem or DSL modem your computer's connecting to?

Did you unplug the cable modem for a few minutes before switching the connection to the router?

Alternatively, did you clone your Mac's MAC address on your router so the cable modem still "thinks" it's connected to your Mac?
