OT: Doctor Who nominated for Hugo Awards

Not one but THREE episodes from the new series of Doctor Who have been nominated for the Hugo Award, including one written by a friend of mine (which will be on US TV in a few weeks' time).

I'm SO pleased. It's really a remarkable show that breaks out of the bounds of "Sci-Fi" and is just really exceptionally good television.

I always thought they sold out when they created that category.

Doctor Who is a decent show, but it's not in the realm of things that a Hugo should be awarded for.

Back in the day, a Hugo meant something a little deeper, I guess.
