iTunes Qs - how to keep CDs in order, for audio books

Okay, I am going to inundate my brain with 7 days straight of hours and hours of Spanish Language Instruction audio, ripped from CDs into iTunes.

Now, how or what ways can be used to keep these in order.

Obviously, progressing through the CD is designed to go in a certain order.

Is there a trick to putting these on an iPod or shuffle and keeping them in CD or ALBUM order?

In the GET INFO pane of the tracks, is there a way to keep them designated in an order? Or, does iTunes automatically embeds the order, with some sort option or play options to keep these straight?

Well, after reading them, they appear to work with non-MP3 file types as mentioned.

I wonder if there are any apps that can transcode the MP3 (CD-ripped) into .aa or .m4b?

Go down the page to Make Bookmarkable . . .

"This script will change the file type of the selected AAC tracks to "M4B ", thus making them bookmarkable. (That is, the track will resume playing wherever you left off the last time you played it.) Additionally, the filenames of the selected tracks will be renamed with the ".m4b" extension.
• Files copied to iPod that have been made bookmarkable with this script will appear in the iPod's "Audiobooks" section.
• Latest version now adds the ".m4b" extension to filenames."
