Humor meets typography meets film reference

That was pretty funny, even though there's no doubt some inside baseball stuff that was too subtle for me.

What's the connection with American Psycho? Is there somebody in that with an OCD (or really, CDO) with respect to typography?

Still, it made me laugh.

It's a billboard promoting the movie airing Friday at 9:30.
Maybe a bit too subtle?

Also, if you've never seen American Psycho (or read the book), the reference wouldn't work.

FWIW, I disliked A.P. when I saw it. I might have to re-watch it & see if it still bothers me.

A big part of AP is a send up, almost to the point of satire (and from that clip, beyond satire in the movie), of the 80s uber yuppie obsession with the acquisition of expensive material goods and the fawning over, and fascination with, the smallest of real or perceived merits of whatever the article in question happens to be.

And a few trips to a site like uncrate makes me think that level of obsession has far from faded entirely from our culture.

That scene was not memorable to me the first time I saw the film.
(I don't think many scenes were.)
I only know it now as a viral.

No, that's the part I got.

The use of a faux business card and American Psycho was the part I wasn't clear on. decay's link cleared that up.

That was a great clip, decay. It's not a movie I'd see, but that scene would have definitely stood out.

Dueling business cards, complete with *dispensers* only to be outdone by the guy who didn't choose to throw done, and didn't even have a card case.

That would have been a standout funny moment (I'm guessing).
