Ebay: Buy It Now/ Best Offer
#1
Why do they stop your offers after you placed three on an items?

I was "walking" the price towards the BIN price and got cut off after 3 offers.

Seems like a funny way to do bidness, but maybe it's just me...and this bottle of cognac sitting beside me...

eBay sucks lately. A lot.

Don't forget to use Bing.com to search for the item and get 8% cash back if you choose Buy It Now and pay with PayPal. You do have to sign up with Bing before bidding.

They do it to prevent exactly what you were trying to do. If they allowed unlimited offers, the item would simply sell for the lowest price every time, and then what's the point.

They're trying to keep the offers "honest."

And while I won't disagree with your generalization that ebay "sucks lately," I don't think that having a cutoff for offers qualifies for that. Their fee increases lately have been getting ridiculous. They have "sale" periods to try to make up for it but it doesn't, IMO. I often have to pay $6 to list a $45-50 item. That's way over 10% which is my mental cutoff for whether or not it's worth it. I've been increasingly doing craigslist or other alternatives instead.
