...being placed on 7 week hiatus...for Fox that might be bad news in the future...long hiatus = eventual cancellation...?

FOX's 'Fringe' set to take seven week hiatus

Joshua Jackson should have some extra time to enjoy the winter Olympics in his hometown of Vancouver early next year.

Sources confirm that FOX is putting "Fringe" --which actually shoots in the 'Couv and stars Jackson, John Noble and Anna Torv-- on a seven week hiatus.

The schedule has not yet been finalized but the network is expected to air its new midseason drama "Past Life" in "Fringe"'s Thursday timeslot starting Feb. 11.

"Fringe" would then return on Apr. 1 to finish out the second season with its seven remaining episodes.

I hope it continues, that is one of the best shows on tv! Seven weeks is a long time though.

I find that I get hooked on certain shows and watch faithfully, week after week, even though some episodes are a letdown.
While Fringe is not the best show on my list, but I would like to see where the story line is going. My strongest criteria for following a show is always based on whether I really like the characters and I have to say that Fringe has been enjoyable for the most part.

Heroes is one show that's barely hanging on for me, since I don't really like any of the characters, except for Hiro, but I have to say the "abilities" can make some episodes interesting for me.

Of my current picks, I have to say that Castle has improved greatly and is now pretty entertaining. My series list includes Lie to Me, NCIS, CSI Miami, The Good Wife, So you Think You Can Dance, Bones, Sons of Anarchy, The Mentalist, Supernatural, Medium, Numbers, White Collar, Stargate Universe, Sanctuary, PBS' Masterpiece series, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Californication and Brothers & Sisters. Shows not on right now, but I hope are coming back are Burn Notice, Leverage, Royal Pains, Psych, In Plain sight, The Closer and Saving Grace.

What I hate is when the networks screw around with days, time slots and then louse up my recordings by starting later than the guide schedule shows and ending shows off the hour, so that I don't have the whole show when I go to watch it or in some cases causing it not to record,

IMHO, too many shows that I really enjoyed have been "killed" by a network's rescheduling fiasco.

fox exec: we need to put this "fringe" show on hiatus for 7 weeks so we can put on this "dancing with the greatest survivor" show.

7 weeks later

fox exec: hmmm. no one seems to be coming back to "fringe". oh well. better cancel it.

It's FOX, fer cripes sake. They could take a truckload of gold bars and turn it into a wheelbarrow full of horse crap in less than a month.

Another one of my favorites; I'd hate to see it go.

I like the chemistry of all the cast members, and John Noble is great.
