sorry... I meant to suggest that they are simply not very durable.

One drop and you'll likely have two or more pieces to pick up...

It is a small lightweight laptop that features form over function...your not supposed to drop it...ever. Smile But yea, they dent in the corners and the screen hinges snap easily if they are stressed.

I'm using my first generation MBA right now, that I purchased a couple of weeks after the MBA debut. Still love it, and use it every day.

Light but solid. Smaller screen than my main 24" iMac, but then I don't want to lug my iMac in my backpack.

Do I wish it had more RAM and a bigger hard drive? Yep. But I have wanted that for every Mac I ever had.

After about a year and a half, I noticed the screen hinges were loose. I took it into the Apple Store, and despite not having AppleCare, they replaced the screen and hinge assembly at no charge to me.

Also, it was a bit on the pricey side, but I also paid $2499 for a Mac 128 back in 1984, the MBA of the day. Talk about a small hard drive!

As recently as 1998, I was taking a Mac SE on the road to meetings. Lugging the MBA is a lot easier, and the MBA also has a faster processor and more RAM.

Plus the color screen is nice.

I only see gloss screen on those sold at apple.com. There isn't any one with matte screen?

I am very tempted but I want to see if the price will drop any further. Is there an alert of MBA sale I can sign up from apple.com?
