Where are outgoing faxed documents saved in Tiger?
#1
Using built in fax capabilities in Tiger via internal modem? Does the system save a copy of what was faxed somewhere? ...been using older fax software (faxSTF) on old computer that saved everything, now forced to use built-in 10.4.11 sw, can't find anything except list of completed, cancelled, no response fax attempts. No copy, or other record of what was sent... anybody know where the info is stashed? I couldn't find anything via the help file... Any way to print a receipt of what was faxed?
thanks,

Buzz

Try these
http://127.0.0.1:631/jobs?which_jobs=completed
http://localhost:631/printers/Internal_M...=completed

Thanks, that's a lot of good info... however it all seems to point back to using third party software (again) to accomplish what the old third party fax software used to do vis a via keeping records on our old souped up 1997 PM7300 (w/ 500MHz G3, 1GB RAM, UW2SCSI card w/ dual drives, etc.) before it fritzed out... guess I'll have to post again and ask for current fax software recommendations, as there is still a need to have full record of some of the faxes that are sent...

I haven't delved into faxing from OS X for quite some time, but if it uses the CUPS architecture then it will not save copies of old faxes until you set it to do so.

Here are instructions for configuring CUPS to archive old print jobs.

Thanks Doc... the article is aptly titled "Cool Geek Tricks...", and I'm gonna hang on to it, but I'm thinking some off the shelf fax software is probably more suitable for our needs... I guess I'm also hoping I can tweak the PM7300 and get it back in action... it seems as though the main HD isn't spinning up properly on boot up, so one of these days when I get some help around here, I'll take it apart a bit, and check out the jumpers... I'm hoping the problem is a simple jumper config issue... one the older drives in it died, and I replaced both 2GB drives w/ 9GB drives, and everything worked fine until I power cycled the machine which I try to do every month or two... then problems on the restart(s). I hooked up an external boot drive, and if I use a utility to start the main internal drive, it then mounts, so that's why I'm hoping it's a jumper issue, given the symptoms. After mounting, it would boot from it occasionally, but mostly not, so I'm thinking we got lucky after the initial install, but in the mean time, we need an easy solution for OS X fax saving...
