Ooma with FiOS question

Just added Ooma.
When the phone rings (number not yet ported), Verizon VM picks up before the answering machine. Is that just Verizon confusion? Can that be fixed or must we wait for the port to be completed?

I don't know about FiOS but you can adjust how soon the Ooma voicemail picks up in My Ooma if you have Premier, or the trial which you would have since it is new.

Can you not disable the Verizon VM or change the settings for a higher ring count? The default Ooma ring count is four.
